Gadbjerg Church was built around the year 1200 and dedicated to Saint Laurentius. The church consists of a Roman chancel and nave with late Gothic touches: Tower towards west and porch to the south. Originally, the church was built in travertine and granite squares. Was later reconstructed and now in particular the south side has a mediaeval large brick facing.
The font is a Roman granite font with a South German baptismal basin from around 1575. Above the baptismal basin, you will find a late Renaissance baptismal sky piece from 1643. The altarpiece, a copy of Leonardo da Vinci’s famous The Last Supper, is from around 1600.
The four top chair gables are from around year 1600. The pulpit is from the late seventeenth century, while the organ is from 1968. |
