Lindeballe Church was built in 1200 in a Roman/Gothic style. The chancel and nave were built around the year 1200 by large bricks burned in a terrestrial brick kiln built for the purpose. The remains of the brick kiln, which were excavated in 1915, are still visible west of the church.
The church was built in travertine and granite squares and some of the major parts have been reconstructed with large mediaeval bricks. The tower was added in 1924 as an appreciation of the parish surviving the First World War without permanent damage. |
