The Vejle region allows you to get close to Denmark’s ancient history. At Jelling you can visit Denmark’s ‘certificate of baptism’ – the rune stones erected by the kings Gorm the Old and Harald Bluetooth in the 900s AD. Or visit the historic Jelling Church.
