Denmark's Most Beautiful Trading Town

In Vejle, the service is top-notch, and it has been awarded Denmark's Most Beautiful Trading Town for 2020-22. The city has also been named Denmark's best, coziest, and most service-minded trading town in the past.

Vejle Pedestrian Street

The largest selection of shops is centered around Vejle's 900-meter-long pedestrian street in the heart of the city. The charming granite-paved pedestrian street stretches over Søndergade, Torvegade, Nørregade, and Vestergade, each with their own charming squares, side streets, passageways, and courtyard environments. At Søndertorv, the Bryggen city center welcomes you with 60 stores – and 700 parking spaces on the roof. Saturdays feature a market square at Nørretorv. In the summer months, part of Nørretorv transforms into a city beach with beach furniture and palm trees.

The street is paved with granite and in certain places inscriptions from the Jelling stone can be seen. Through special "windows" in the pavement you can have a glimpse of the original paving from the Middle age.

Vejle Midtpunkt and Vejle's other downtown area

In the northern part of the pedestrian street lies Vejle Midtpunkt with an exciting mix of shops and eateries. Here, from April to October, you can experience the colorful umbrella sky.

Scattered throughout the rest of the city, you'll find a wide selection of colorful specialty stores - everything from electronics, lighting, and furniture stores to gemstones and musical instruments.

North of Vejle

In the northern part of Vejle – by the Vejle North motorway exit - you'll find, among others, the Bilka department store, building markets, furniture stores, kitchen centers, a garden center, and car dealerships.
