Store Grundet Sundhedsskov

The Health Forest in Vejle, Store Grundet Sundhedsskov, is located close to the city and just a short distance from Vejle Hospital. Here, the forest has been designed as a peaceful refuge where nature, stillness and simple experiences go hand in hand. It is an ideal place for a slow walk, a break on a bench, a quiet moment by the fire pit or some time beneath the treetops.

The forest is located in the southern part of Grejsdalen and is characterised by steep slopes, natural springs and damp woodland areas. This creates a varied nature experience, where you can feel close to the landscape, even though Vejle city centre is not far away. Along the way, you will find places that invite you to sense the forest – the colours, the wind, the scents, the small plants and the calm between the trees.

The Health Forest is for anyone who would like to use nature as a breathing space. Some come for a quiet walk, while others come to find calm, balance or reflection.

At Den Lille Rundtur and Moster Karens Fold, you will find seating areas, gathering places, a fire shelter, sensory spaces and accessible toilets. The forest also has viewpoints overlooking Grejsdalen and Vejle at Høje Knøs to the north and Troldetoppen to the south.

Please show consideration for other visitors and for nature. Dogs must be kept on a leash, and all rubbish must be taken home. At times, some areas may be reserved for health programmes. If so, please choose another part of the forest and make room for the calm.
