On 30 May 2026 from 10:00 to 15:00, Egtved Museum and the town of Egtved set the scene for Egtved Girl’s Day. The story of one of Denmark’s best-preserved Bronze Age finds is brought to life with music, crafts, local stalls and activities for the whole family.
The day begins at 10:00 with Bronze Age lur players, a welcome from Finn Laursen, chairman of Egtved Museumsforening, and an opening speech by city council member Thomas Hestbæk. Afterwards, a procession with lur players, the Egtved girls and the Sun Chariot continues along Aftensang.
Egtved Museum is open during the event, with special guided tours at 11:00 and 13:00. During the day, visitors can experience the Egtved girls in Bronze Age-inspired costumes, bronze casting, rope making, smithing, folk dancing, puppet theatre, storytelling, treasure hunts, face painting, music, vintage tractors and pancake baking over an open fire.
In the courtyard, there will be stalls with local products, crafts and other finds. Sausages, bread, beer and soft drinks will also be available for purchase. At Roberthus, visitors can experience vintage tractor ring riding.
Participation is free.
