Go on a nature adventure with your family
In collaboration with Vejle Kommune, Natureventyr has created seven unique and free adventures that are largely based on the historical areas around Vejle. With the app in hand, families with children embark on a treasure hunt where the story unfolds at the different checkpoints. Along the way, there are small tasks that involve the children in the storytelling.
Seven Nature Adventures developed especially for Vejle
The Creatures’ Dispute over the Precious Egg, Hastrup Lake and Plantation
This adventure takes you on a journey into Hastrup Plantation, north of Give, and around the beautiful Hastrup Lake, which is rich in birdlife. In the story, you follow the girl Dicte, who loves birds and therefore goes to Hastrup Plantation with her new binoculars to watch birds. But Dicte soon discovers that a dispute has broken out among the magical creatures of the forest.
The Journey from the Eternal Winter, Vindelev
On this adventure, you go on a trip to the village of Vindelev. In Vindelev, a large gold treasure was found in 2020. In this story, you travel together with the chieftain’s daughter Sol. Together with Sol, you must end the Eternal Winter that has struck the land, and you are therefore sent out to bring a gold offering to the gods.
King Ran’s Four Friends, Gødding Forest
On this adventure, you travel with the young King Ran into Gødding Forest to find four chieftains who will follow him as king. The journey takes you through the forest, past impressive Bronze Age burial mounds and along secret paths. When the adventure is over, you are only a short drive away from the impressive Firhøje and King Ran’s mound by Randbøldal Church.
The Ballad of the Foolish Wars, Vingsted Iron Age Village
In this adventure, you will hear the story of the strong-willed girl Sigrid, whose father was the warrior Gorm the Mighty. Gorm had been away from home for many weeks because of yet another foolish fight, and Sigrid was sad about it. She missed her father. So Sigrid made a decision: Chieftain Orm had to be persuaded not to start any more foolish wars. Even though it would not be an easy task.
Akiko and the White Deer, Dyrehaven in Vejle
In this adventure, you meet the sika deer Akiko, who goes on an adventure in the park to find help for her sick grandmother.
On your walk through Dyrehaven, you will find two different species of deer, both fallow deer and sika deer. In the wild, deer are usually shy, but in the park, they are used to people, so you can see them up close.
The Journey to Ægir’s Spring, Rørbæk Lake
At Ballesbækgård Visitor Centre, you will find a truly fantastic natural area. Here you can experience ancient forest, steep slopes, and the picturesque Rørbæk Lake.
In the adventure, you set off on a journey with the boy Ask, who travels to the land of the giants, Jotunheim, to save his sister Else. The story takes you around the area and is based on the tale of how the Gudenå river, which is not far from here, came to be.
Astrid’s stormy rescue mission, Holtser Hage
In this adventure, you follow the Viking girl Astrid, who had to set out on a dangerous journey to save her father from a mighty storm. During the adventure, you will walk along the beach and all the way out to Holtser Hage. Along the way, you will meet the three guardians who help Astrid on her journey. The adventure ends at a shelter area, where there are also tables and benches where you can enjoy your packed lunch.
