Tirsbæk Castle Park

The castle park at Tirsbæk Manor is situated between high, wooded slopes on the north side of Vejle Fjord. The Renaissance garden can be visited during the summer season.

The park of Tirsbæk Castle dates all the way back to the Renaissance, as only few manor gardens in Denmark do. The key elements of the garden are the terrace layout, the vineyard, the surrounding stone wall, and the moat.

The park covers 12 hectares and was laid out in the 18th century. The main building is situated on an islet, separated from the garden by a moat. The park is surrounded by a fieldstone wall and contains an animal garden, fruit and ornamental gardens, as well as a terrace complex and a vineyard – the oldest existing one in Denmark.

The estate includes 400 hectares of farmland, meadows, and forest. The site is operated, among other things, as a combined agricultural and forestry business. Tirsbæk Castle is privately owned.

Guided tours for groups are available. See contact information on this page.
