Our recommendations close to citylife

Vejle has many excellent playgrounds – perhaps even the best nature playgrounds in Jutland. We’ve gathered a selection of our favourites in the city and surrounding towns.

Vejle Marina

Near the marina in Vejle, you’ll find a small two-part playground featuring a large whale and a slide. Right next to it is another small playground with a stranded viking ship for slightly older children. Kids can balance on the wreck parts and jump on viking shields. For extra safety, the play area has shock-absorbing rubber flooring. The playground is enclosed.

Address: Stævnen, 7100 Vejle.

Mythological playground in Jelling

The new playground in Jelling is themed around Norse mythology and the Viking Age. Here, you can crawl through the Midgard Serpent, take on the Fenris Wolf or greet Odin’s ravens. Children can let their imagination unfold and play their way into Denmark’s ancient past. The playground also features a zipline and swings.

Address: Kollegievej 13, 7300 Jelling.

Sønderskoven

The large forest playground in Sønderskoven has something for children of all ages. You’ll find a balance course, wooden play equipment and a Tarzan track. There is also a fire pit, outdoor grill and tables and benches.

Address: Svinget 6, 7100 Vejle.

Mariaparken

This park offers room for both activity and relaxation for the whole family. While the parents relax, the sports field can be used for ball games and play. The park also features a large lawn with a pavilion, café and public toilets.

Address: Blegbanken 10, 7100 Vejle.

Tommy Troelsen’s Park

Tommy Troelsen’s Park includes several fields for ball games and beach volleyball, as well as a multi-purpose sports field. The activity park is also part of Vejle’s climate protection system – during heavy rain, the fields transform into retention basins. The park is great for children who love ball sports.

Address: Steensens Vej 7, 7100 Vejle.

Indoor playgrounds

Vejle also has indoor play areas for the days when it’s too cold or too warm for the little ones outside.
